Blue light bulbs in shop toilets?

Does anyone know why some shops have blue ultraviolet lights in their loos?

Are the bulbs cheaper or something?

Hygiene and drugs. There's always been a lot of argument about whether they actually work or not.

The logic is, i think, that the blue light makes it harder to see your veins to get a needle in. My local Sainsburys has them for some reason.

It's not good for us 'normal' users of the toilets....but it is a sorry state of the times.......... keeps the scum out................

I went to A&E with dog bites on my hands and their toilets had a blue bulb, it made the blood on my hands look a really awful colour. I already felt sick, and that nearly tipped me over the edge.
