Yes you should be able to. Do you know what style bb you have? And why do you want to change it?

I would doubt it tbh. The shell size for a normal one piece crank is much bigger than the normal 1 3/8" used on three piece cranks.

Since 3 piece became the latest trend on BMX's some lower end bikes have a 3 piece crank axle that has cones cast into it so it will fit into the old US style BMX BB shell, it makes lower end bikes look a bit more expensive than they really are.

The real deal 3 piece crankset is a straight axle with splines on it and no cones, the 3 piece BB's come in two sizes, one the 1 /38" that Tyred mentions and also an over sized version that's a bit larger in the bearing department - both run on loose press in cartridge bearings.

They are not interchangeable systems with what we normally mean by 3 piece cranks on other bikes.
