It disappears when looking at a thread when I'm on IE but works fine still on Google Chrome. Don't know if it's just me or an issue, albeit a minor one.

It's also ugly (wrong font), and IMO unnecessary.

Okay, I've removed the large button and returned it to the original style - does it work in IE for you now Rich?

There were a lot of disparities between 7, 8, and 9 so I'm guessing this will be an IE8 rendering issue. Maybe consider upgrading to 9? If you're not using the quick-nav much though it might not be worth the effort.

Shaun, I've just spotted that the 'arrow' and whole navigation bar moves to the bottom of the page.
