Why would that be asking to be knocked off? What's wrong with overtaking? You're supposed to overtake in the oncoming traffic lane, and it's perfectly legal here given the broken chevrons. I'm always amazed at how many people incorrectly think "You're not allowed to ride in the 'wrong' lane.".
