Also heard great things, whats the difference between 2014 model and 2013? Any ideas?

None whatsoever except the paintjob, I believe. You might get slightly better wheels on the 2013 model.

Good bike as many say but would you upgrade the chain from the KMC X10SL to the Shimano 105 chain?

I have one, it's excellent! As far as I remember, there were no differences between the 2013 and 2014 except the paint job. Wheels are impressive, after 1200 miles, they have never gone out of true. I have plenty of crappy roads around here too.

The KMC chain shifts so smoothly, I don't see what use changing it for a Shimano one would be.
