We had 2 white lads from Jamaica who joined our 6th form year... they were way beyond cool... we loved just listening to their accents which were broad Jamaican, but they created a big distraction for the girls and, no doubt, a few of the boys in their classes.

We had a lovely Indian lass who worked in a local shop.

However when she spoke she was broad Glaswegian.

It was simply incongruous

A German lad I worked with had a Jamaican wife. He spoke German like the native he was with a strong Bavarian accent and his English was pure Rastaman, including idioms .
