Who will win this super fight happening Early Sunday morning UK time.
Two greats, and i mean greats in Canelo Alverez and Gennardy Golovkin...
When this fight was announced, it had all boxing fans salivating in knowing what a heavyweight contest this is.
The one all have been waiting for, best fight in years, truly!

GGG is strong, forward mentality, though little head movement. He does not know defense or getting to know his opponent. So strong and game for a fight.
Canelo is strong also, awesome combination moves, fast, weighs up opponents and better head movement and defense.

My view is soo close though will go for Canelo. Due to a little more technical. Though, if he gets caught in the headlights like he did against Mayweather, he will get caught out and knocked out.

Too close to call. Super fight.

Listening to 5 Live (other stations are available) on the way home from football last night, the pundits were getting very excited about this, to the point where I was too. Then I turned the radio off and remembered I don't know anything about boxing and hadn't heard of either guy until now.

If boxing's your thing I can see why it would be a big deal. Certainly sounds like a proper contest, unlike that stupid McGregor/Mayweather thing a couple weeks ago.

So, purely based on 15 minutes of radio, I will go for Alvarez because they made him sound like a more skilful fighter.

I'm going to disagree with you, ( edited to say both of you!) even though Golovkin is slightly past his best I think he's still got enough in the tank to knock Canelo out. The only way I see a Canelo win is on points, as GGG is taking a lot more shots of late.

Good comments.
GGG is and always been a heavy puncher, his stamina is amazing and proved to last. His training for this has seen him develop back to his best and he still is in his prime though coming out of this soon.
Points it may well go to and I think it will. Canelo cannot dare go toe to toe like the British fighter Brookes or risk getting a solid hook.

Whoever can impart the greatest brain acceleration upon their opponent will win. Aside from that it'll come down to a combination of fitness and age. Golovkin is older, but *if* he's in good shape then 35 is the peak of the "fifth cycle" so could be at his best in terms of power and endurance (it falls off quickly beyond that age). That's a big if, but we'll see.

I dont think there's enough between their cumulative skills and physical attributes to reliably call it.

I think GGG training will make him feel and be back in his 20s again, no doubt.
Both are skillful, powerful and offensive which makes this a great bout and boxing needs a great bout.

I'm sitting here watching the undercard, and I think the main event is up next.... very excited!!
They are both big punchers and game for a tear up, so it is literally a 50/50 fight... despite all the hype, normally this isn't always the case!!
My prediction is a cagey first two, then some fireworks, before ggg banging him out in the 5th. I can't see it going the distance though!!
By the way, I've got it on a moody stream....

Draw due to female judge seeing 2 rounds completely different to reality. Re-match will come.

Wassat then? Seriously, first time I've seen the phrase?

The 118 was a crazy score card.it was close. I had it as GGG all out winner but only just. The early rounds to canelo as his movement, ggg shots were not clear hits. Later on then ggg became offensive as canelo fatigued. The score to the offensive fighter. Close cards in my view say 115-113 to ggg. There have been more clearer rigged fights, i would say this was not one of those. Rematch I would predict as money is the real winner!?
