Sir Bradley Wiggins set to miss 2014 Tour de France
Sir Bradley Wiggins says he will not be competing in this year's Tour de France "as things stand".

The four-time Olympic gold medallist, 34,won the Tour in 2012 but was absent last year as fellow Brit and Team Sky colleague Chris Froome triumphed.

Wiggins told the BBC: "The team is focused around Chris Froome.

"I am gutted. I feel I am in the form I was two years ago. Now if I want to go to the Tour again, the reality is that I might have to go elsewhere."

So the old feelings between him and Froome are still simmering. Maybe a tilt at the Vuelta a Espana instead?

If F1 was Cycling, would Rosberg or Hamilton be without a seat.

Dave Brailsford says

"As far as my experience has been, if you want to win the biggest events in the world, normally the guy with plan A tends to win," he said recently. "It's not often you get, 'Let's revert to plan B' and you win. It's not the norm."
