Hi everyone,

Have had a bit of a crap day yesterday changing the brake pads on my commuter. The pins that hold the pad within the cartridge bent so badly as to be rendered useless. First time this has happened to me. My question is: can you (and where) get spare pins? Also, am I missing out a trick there as these pins went in ok for about half their length then became so hard I had to press like a maniac (ending up bending them)...

Cheers,

benjamin

Your LBS might have some in the bits box, or you could buy some cheap pads...

I gave up on mine on the LHT & no longer use them. I figure so long as I don't use my brakes to stop me rolling backwards down a hill, or something, I'll probably be ok.

Cheers...

Having said that, living where I live (mid-Wales), hill starts are quite common, especially on the commute!
