Need to change the pads on my bike as they're almost done. I have a pair of Aztec calipers and some Shimano Ultegra (as far as I know shimano able pads would be compatible with either of them).

Alloy brke tracks, anything else you need to know? I'm not worried about wear rates, I just want to be able to stop/slow down effectively.

Swissstop GREEN or Koolstop SALMON.

For a budget option some folk swear by CLARKS pads as well, not sure if these are the ones folk recommend TBH as I've never used 'em myself.
FYI - Shimano brake pads are made of cheese

I've just had a bike rebuild and the LBS fitted some new pads, Xlc Bs-R04, as mine where worn out and they are the best pads that I have ever had and actually managed to lock my wheel up for the first time in years. It took me some finding them online online so that I could stock my spares box up with them. I'm well hooked on them, The best price I can find is £6.36 and that is for 4 pads, not 2:-

There that effective, I'm terrified even more going downhill fast, especcially in the wet as I could be off just dabbing the brakes before entering a bend.

Thanks for this suggestion - I've now had a set on the front of my #2 bike for a couple of weeks. They certainly do the trick in the wet. Cheers.
