Broken iPhone 3G or 3GS going spare

Long shot, otherwise I will try ebay, but does anyone have a broken iPhone 3G or 3GS (any colour) that they have lying around and want a little cash for?

Only need a part from it, so provided the mute button worked...

Can't you just buy the part if eBay? There are plenty of mute buttons, volume buttons and ribbons on there.

Cheap to get the part off the bay, comes with tools etc... If someone's got a broken one you will be Lucky as unless it's totally destroyed they have likely repaired their own!

I have changed the camera and the mute/headphone socket in my old 3GS, didn't cure the main problem it had but it was easy and cheap enough.

was just asking. have already dismantelled it and checked out problem, previously it was a loose cable, this time it is a broken switch or faulty cable or both, can live with it if necessary. was just that sometimes people don't repair them with the 3G being that old you can't install any new apps because it can't take anything above iOS 4.2, is no longer supported and most apps want much higher than iOS 4.2 nowadays.
Also was more interested in a faulty phone because it would allow me to change the case over if the faulty one was not as broken as ours and I am watching ebay for one at a reasonable price. (my OH dropped ours whilst we were on tour.)
