Cycling home from work last night, I got a stick caught in my bike chain which then slipped off at the back. So, I stop, turn the bike upside down, removed the stick and fixed the chain back on. It's then that I noticed this longish black tube hanging off the side of my bike. I couldn't work out how to fit it back on and the bike seemed to run fine without it so popped it in my bag and continued on home.

Turns out that Bromptons come fitted with their own pump as standard. I've had the bike for just over two years and never realised - I thought it was some hydraulic part of the bike, something to do with brakes or gears...

Doh! :banghead:

You REALLY didn't read the manual/handbook did you.

I once stopped in Clapham to help a B owner with a rear puncture. I used to carry a couple of spare tubes before I realised park patches were the way forward.

"But I haven't got a pump!" he cried. I pointed. My how we larfed.

lol evidentally not, actually I dont tend to read manuals for anything so that explains a lot.

Whats worse is I bought myself a little pump in Evans last year and have been carrying it in my bag every day since.
