I bought one a year ago. When I first got it I found it OK but month after month it got better. I like it so much I've decided to get one in black (original was honey) to match my new croix de fer! I will be ordering the matching tape as well, I'm such a tart.

Mine also was hard to brake in but after lots of miles it's my third fav saddle, after my 2 Swallow saddles.

I use a plastic bag under the sit to prevent getting the underside wet and that works well, alternative would be to use fenders but I don't use them.

I'd say that if you know you will be riding in wet and muddy conditions on a regular basis then it is not worth the hassle.

I'll post pictures of my new one next to my old one. My "old" one isn't really honey any more. The sweat from my bum has turned it quite dark.

Bloody quality control is lacking at brooks. Saddle is being sent back as it's not all died black...
The cut away parts have brown patches all over it on one side.
