...has developed some kind of heart condition and has been told by the doc to stop cycling.
He is a very commited active member of the cycling community and this must be just torture.
He really does have my best wishes and hopes for a speedy recovery.
If it were me I would feel like my feet(or even crutch)had been pulled from underneath me and in no time I`d start dreaming about cycling, typically riding to the Yorkshire East Coast or going to an LBS
I hope you get back in the saddle soon Sir.

That's not good. Hopefully it can be treated and get him back to normal and on the bike again

Good luck to him!

I met a cyclist well into his 80s who had previously had a heart attack, had a pacemaker fitted, and had cancer, but was back riding his bike!
Great stuff Colin.I almost see cycling as a medicine and its good to see your getting the miles in again.
I`m pretty sure he won`t be finished just yet.

Im 41 now and started cycling at kid' of age lol

I ride chain gangs and like just doing 12mph rides...cycling is a great sport if you do it physically, its more than a mental sport/exercise. Youve got to give it everything - anyone who says you dont is lying bigtime
