My next commuter bike is going to be one either a B'TWIN NEWORK 700 CITY BIKE for £599.00 or Focus Wasgo TR 3.0 from Edinburgh Bike Coop for £699.00. Both have an 8 speed hub, mudguards. However EBC are having a 15% sale this weekend. I would like disc brakes, I live on a hill and get through lots of rim brake pads. Or the Focus, which is ready to go, straight out of the box. Which would fans of hub geared bikes buy?

Bit late responding to this but I have had the Focus for about three months now and I'm delighted with it.

Its a very solid, tough well put together bike which is a joy to ride.

I'm not familiar with the Btwin model but I believe that in general they are great value bikes.

If you have any specific questions about the focus I'll do my best to answer them.

I was all set to buy the Focus from EBC when they where having their 15% sale last weekend. However the bike that I wanted vanished and was replaced buy a more expensive one. So I put an order in with Decathlon for the Network 700 which is due to be delivered Friday (for free). I am planning to fit it with a Hebie Chainglider and change the front wheel for one fitted with a dynamo.
