We have been in our house for 7 years now and my wife has always parked her car in the same place, outside our house. We live in a close so no traffic. The last 2 days, our next door neighbour has started parking in her place although he has plenty of space to park outside his house, which he did up to now. I am not one to give in to bullies so I am going to wait a couple of days just to see if he keeps doing it and if he does, confront him for an explanation.

is it your own house?
do you have any ownership of the bit of road outside your house?
If you answer no to either of the above you have no right to ask him to park elsewhere as it will be a public road.
However if it shows on the plans of your home that your house boundary stops in the middle of the road outside your home then you can safely say it is a private parking space.

There's been a car parked outside my house for weeks. It hasn't moved, it's got a flat tyre. One of my neighbours is furious. I've checked it's MOT'd and insured, so not that fussed myself.
It's partly obstructing the pavement, which is a bit annoying.

Yes we own our house and I know that we don't own the road outside. I am fully aware that it is not a given right to park outside your own house. I am just saying that we all parked in our own places for the last 7 years and never had problems so why change suddenly?

I pay £119 a year for a residents' parking permit. It's a miracle if I can park within fifty yards of the front door. It's not the end of the world really.

Just ignore it is the way to deal with bullies.
He's probably looking for a reaction, don't give him what he wants and he'll get bored and go away (hopefully).
