Went through a Red light and the Police were behind

Caught me up about 3/4 mile down the road and gave me a telling off (Not sure they would have gave chase if I turned off the main road as there were 5 in the car and looked like they were off somewhere)

Worst thing was this was a one off and thought it was a safer option that braking from speed on a wet and slippery surface as I was on my Road bike.

Had you crossed the line when the amber lit up?

A vehicle should be able to stop within the time the amber is lit before the red lights up.

If you are within the min' stopping distance when the amber lights up, you can go through. That's why there's an amber.
