Hi All

Planning an imminent purchase of his n hers Boardam hybrids and a good selection of accessories.

Wondering if any forum members have a knowledge of the Halfords SALE strategies? With such a big investment I am keen to secure the best possible price and at the moment understand I can get a stock 10% discount of everything with a British Cycling Membership. What I am keen to know is when Halfords normally offer discounts? I understand they recently had a £200 off Boardmans offer and I am just trying to figure out when will be the right moment to make my move.

Anyone got insider information on discount codes or imminent offers -pease let me know.

Thanks

I bought my hybrid comp today for £494. plus a free £20 voucher and £22 cashback via topcashback. :becool:

Reserve your bike online via quicdo or topcashback. that will give you 4%. use your BC discount and that will give you 10%. I was also given a free £20 voucher in store today which i used on a bike mirror and tubes. They also have 3 for 2 on bike accessories in store as well at present. Not too sure if the BC discount would apply to this though.

Always look at vouchercodes.co.uk. deals change every day or 2.

Also pop down to your store as they have offers on bikes on a store basis.

There's unlikely to be any instore price changes this side of xmas.
Bikes paid for in full before 26th Nov come with £20 towards accessories, and accessories are on a 3 for 2.
The current "money maker" seems to be buying gift cards in the supermarkets and getting money off fuel with your purchase. You can get around £7 of fuel for every £100 of gift card with Morrissons.

I am happy to wait until after Christmas if there will be discounting then. Difficult to curtail the excitement, but I will cope !

Halfords have just started to advertise the new Boardman range, the ad states coming soon. It maybe worth waiting and get a 2013 model, or the 2011-2012 range maybe reduced in price.

I have no idea if Boardman will follow the trend, but a couple of other notable brands have reduced both their prices, and the component specs on their 2013 models - with the end result that a 'new' 2012 left in the shop is still more expensive than a new 2013 model!

From past experience Halfords clear out old stock at a reduced price, so there's a good change that the 2011-2012 range will be reduced too, hopefully!

When though...................???................ part of me wants to just go and buy the bikes and the sensible side is saying..... be patient....

Just don't run the risk and they run out of 2012 stock. The 2011/12 range are already great specs at good prices for all 3 in the hybrid range.
