Some friends are doing the C2C in July. They are doing a mixed variant on mountain bikes. While I quite like the idea, I was thinking of doing a road-bike route and meeting up with them for the road bits. Knowing little about the options, I wonder if anyone here could comment on the practicality of such an idea?
as ther is very little of the route that I would call off-road that cant easy be avoided and you don't even add any miles either 
we did it last june over three days 2 of us were on tourer,s one had 28,si had 32,s and the other bike had 25,s and had no probs at all
