I ride with a garmin edge 800. I ride to lose weight and also to improve my fitness but purely for pleasure, no racing. im in my mid 40's.
just wondering what benefits a cadence sensor would give me, is it worth the outlay for a leisure cyclist like me? ive never had one before so am unsure of the benefits except it might give strava more details of my rides.
any information regarding this will be gratefully received:thumbsup:

Does what it says on the tin really. Most are combi sensors so you can take speed directly off the back wheel(the 800 will display hardware speed as preference over GPS)

All it really adds to strava is your average and a nice pink line on your performance graph.

that's what I thought to be honest, not sure whether it warrents a £30 outlay for something I wont get much out of.

Mine has helped me no end on my 800. I have monitored it for some time, and my average cadence has increased by about 10 strokes per minute. My cycling now feels smoother and more fluent, I've found that I'm not lacking in energy leg wise towards the end of a long rides of 110 miles+
