You'll get used to it very soon. Cadence for me is usually 100-110 (nice cateye wireless with cadence telling me this) with about 150-160rpm downhill (30-32 mph).
I found as you start hitting the high rpm, the best thing is to 'lock out' your ankle. When pedalling at 'regular' rpm I tend to flex my ankle (most people do to get a smooth pedalling style), but as you go faster and faster, you can't do it. Mentally stopping the 'flexing' helps with the higher speed, and you soon can control the downhill speed without feeling as though you have just sat on top of a runaway train.......
