Looks ok , whats it like for returns if you have an issue ? At least with decathlon they have physical shops and mechanics if you have a problem.
Pretty similar spec other wise , 8 speed shimano or 8 speed microshift both work with slightly different ergonomics.

It does look OK, which is a surprise as GO outdoors had a crap selection last time I went. One plus is the tyres are really decent and much better than usually provided.

However I would go for the Merlin in pref

Go outdoors have lots of physical shops, and my experience of ordering online but then returning to a shop (for I have done this) was fine.

Thanks All, I had a look and sat on it at the weekend and I have two shops about 45 mins away from me. I did look at the Merlin but not being able to sit on the bikes due to there being no local shops to me put me off. I know the Calibre two.two had good review as a budget moutain bike by the likes of MBUK, but the reviews of the Rivelin are non-existant. The thing swinging it for me is the £255 (plus possible 7% quidco) with the online discount code on the first page of the gooutdoors web site, as this is just something to suplement my mountain biking (although I fear things may escolate quickly).

At that price it could be worth it .

That looks great value at £255. It's not that long ago you'd have paid £400+ for a half decent alu frame / carbon fork / Shimano equipped bike. The wheels look a bit anonymous, but you can't have everything!

If things do escalate and you want to upgrade, you'll have a decent frame to start putting better bits on, or I expect you'll be able to sell it at not much less than you paid for it.
