If I was taking my Subway on a tour?

New brakes/pads (v brakes)
bar ends
grips

So far mine has covered about 3000miles and it has proved to be pretty bomb proof.
I shipped the chain onto the back hub once and about 4 spokes went over the next few weeks ,
but 6 months later no further probs.

Wheels and tyres. They're okay for commuting, but won't handle the abuse of loaded tour.

Get some 36-spoke handbuilts (preferable with Sapim Strong spokes).
