Spotted two racing-weight wheels in downtown Funchal a few days ago, but they weren't on a bike.
They were attached to this amazing instrument; at first I thought it might be played with the aid of an air compressor as some sort of organ with a very limited range, but it turned out to be percussion. Members of the band rewarded my interest with a chance to play it during their break - muito obrigado!

The sound can be appreciated about 20 seconds into this clip - there are more on youtube.

Now to source some flexible ducting, large-ish inner tubes or similar, huge jubilee clips, and set my mate Crazy Nick to work!
