Well its been great this week, its unreal, you get on at Histon, cycle in the dark for about 40 mins then home. Its surreal, no cars, noise from the occasional bus, but very dark. I love it !
Its like broadband for cyclists !

How long is the track? I was trying to work out my av mph
I did there and back from St.Ives and it was lovely and smooth.
The bus drivers don't like switching from highbeams do they? And cyclists using only flashing front lights in pitch black can't be helpful. Bluh.
I spotted some nice lights on the road bikes that went past, looked like ayeups and the blue/green glowing button of a magishine.

A warning to anyone using the shared path(paving slab section)with skinny tyres by Impington/Histon (Cambridge side) stop.

MIND THE GAP!!
My friends 23mm tyres slipped into the gap bringing him to a sudden stop and over the bars. I don't think he's the only one!
I hope you reported it...
Yes but I noticed it had been reported in October too, someone else said they went down the same way. The council reporting site makes it sound like they aren't responsible for the track, I don't know who else would be?

Argghh, thanks for the heads up, commute that way in the mornings. Always made sure that I cycle over the middle of the slabs just in case my wheels got tramlined, but this is even worse

That Cambridgeshire report a problem page is terrible because you can't see the detail of the existing problems. Also, I have had reported problems 'closed' because they can't or won't fix them, but frustratingly you don't get a reason back. If you contact the right department by telephone or email you can probably get an answer.

Given that one or more people have had an accident there, they should be jumping on the problem like they do for road potholes. If not, the local councillors (LibDem) are quite good at getting issues to the right contacts within the council.

All this for a slap of cement. I'd do it myself if I lived close by.
