It seems that the 13-29 10 speed cassette is no longer in production. Any suggestions re source here in the UK will be v welcome.

I will of course email the manufacturer via my Italian godson.

You've clearly not tried Google's shop search.... in stock here for one (Germany, but fast & reasonably priced shipping to UK).

According to Campagnolo.com, 13-29 cassettes still available in both Veloce and Centaur varieties.

Blimey - I just saw the prices of 9-speed Campag lockrings on that site - £18.21 for cassettes with an 11 tooth high gear and £13.22 for 12/13 ...

Stu, thanks for the suggestion. I wonder if the veloce cassette is same size as centaur? Is the difference one of material used or dimension?

As long as you get the right 'speed' (9/10/11, whatever) then all cassettes from a given manufacturer are interchangeable. I buy Veloce because they are affordable but use them on a more expensive Campag groupset. Cheaper cassettes are made of steel rather than lighter weight metals, but I think that steel lasts longer and the weight difference is small so I'm happy with them.

What you can't do is use Shimano and Campag interchangeably. (I think that SRAM are Shimano-compatible.)

You can get Campag-compatible cassettes from other manufacturers but I haven't tried them.

Wot Colin said. I have seen a lot of negative reviews of Miche cassettes- the lower-end ones at least. The Supertype ones are really expensive (on a par with high-end Campag)- I wish someone did a reasonably-priced 11-27 in 11 speed.....

Are you sure it's out of production and not just out of stock at the importer?
I'm still on Veloce 9 spd and have no problem getting cassettes, it's be a bit odd for them to drop the 10 before the 9.

Campag say that the 10 speed Centuar and Veloce cassettes 13-29 have been withdrawn from production and are to be replaced by 12-30. A short rear mech may not be compatible. Veoloce and Centaur cassettes are interchangeable.

End of story.

Could do with a Centaur 12-27

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
Not had any problems with Miche Primato, Campag or Shimano - using a 10 speed 12-27 with Veloce, and a 9 speed 13-28 with Tiagra.
