I want to remove ( for maintenance ) the crank arms from my Raleigh - the cranks are Campagnolo Athena circa 1990 - the nut appears to be 14mm/15mm but a normal socket is to thick walled to get in - will a universal crank nut spanner get in or are Campagnolo unusually tight ?

You can use a normal crank nut spanner or the socket end of a traditional crank extractor.
Also, halfords sell a tapered socket that will fit the hole that you can use with your socket wrench.

Thanks festival I saw the socket end and all I could think was why didn't you put a square drive there - suddenly all becomes clear thanks again mate - Bill
