Camper Van Anyone?

I grew up holidaying Europe in VW campers, a white over Orange bay window to start with, then a T25.

Think I've convinced the missus that we should have one, and looking at VW T5 (or T6) conversions.

Anyone on here have a camper?

No but i think they are fab. I did the east coast of Australia ( not a VW) in one and on this summers cycle tour saw some gorgeous ones.VW included.

I began to think middle age had really hit when i started lusting after one.

I like the VW transporters on H reg. classic retro. The new ones are nice but way too pricey.

When I retire from work in the next two years or so, I fully intend to buy a camper and go off around Europe following the cycling and driving around living in the camper. Mrs P might not agree. but i shall be off.

This is the sort of thing I am looking at. Decent shower room, kitchen, skaterlite TV etc.

I could sell the house and live permanently in this!!

Not a camper but two motorhomes, one big, which I hated driving and one more camper size but slightly bigger. Now both gone as our activities changed as the boys got bigger. Quite miss the last one now but I don't think I'd use it much and they are too expensive to leave sitting about. I recall one summer just setting out from Scotland and driving South but the weather was crap so we booked a ferry to Spain, drove through Spain, France, Germany and Denmark and got the ferry home to Harwich and drove back up to Scotland. Maybe in the future I'd get one again but not just now.

This was the last one (not actually my one)

Slept four, bathroom, hot water, heated, we went skiing in it, four bikes on the back and not much longer than a large estate.

We're thinking of getting some type of camper when I retire next year to Spain. The idea is to take off in the really hot weather, to France, Italy and other places in Europe while we rent out the house. Anyway that's the plan but could change.........

Well it was a bit Tardis like but no, not actually in it.

Next door have a camper van, no idea what model or anything, but top half is cream and bottom half orange and its left hand drive. I can't take a pick as they disappeared in it yesterday to the Gower I think. He uses it daily to get to work (5mins away walking, but I'm not sure if he has to go to other sites too), and we can always hear him leaving or arriving, that very distinctive noise. I'm tempted but not yet.
