This may be a bit off subject...Is anyone claiming back mis sold Payment Protection Insurance from a bank? If so how close have you got? Did your bank even reply? Mine has wrote back saying they have no case to answer and I should write to the Ombudsman

It is completely off topic. You join, post one item on a non cycling issue, in a forum about road rides etc.

Go to a money forum, then do please come back and discuss cycling

Only claim for the mis-sold PPP if you actually were mis-sold it please.

We deal with loads of claims every week, and each claim results in an investigation into the compliance of the person who sold the policy. this takes hours and hours of work and costs a lot of money.

We have to do this, by law, and 9/10 times it turns out that the customer has just read something on moneysavingexpert.com and thought they might as well give it a try to see if they can get a few quid back.

Insurance is a gamble - you won't always get your moneys worth. but if you did make a claim it would be well worth the installments.

So please, i'll ask again - only claim that your policy was mis-sold if you really feel that way. NOT if you just want to get your premiums back because you didn't make a claim.

of course if the banks et al operated to the letter and spirit of the law in such matters, there would not be the queues of people hoping to cash in.

how's this for a mis-sell; my bank put insurance on a loan my wife and i took out in her name, in spite of there being absolutely no point in us doing that (me the main earner, her, as a public sector worker, with good health cover). the only thing that's putting us off suing (and there are plenty of no-win no-fee lawyers who'd take it on) is uncertainty over mrs alecetc's job, so we may be able to claim anyway at some point…

Not sure you are quite correct. I work in an HR role and many of our employees, spurred on by the opportunity to make a fast buck will make the most ridiculous claims of mis-management demanding significant monetary retribution. Most (almost all) are completely spurious, but we go through the most torturous processes to prove that it was the employee who made the career decisions, not the manager.

There is increasing culture in our society to sue and see what happens.

To the OP:
Why do you think you were mis-sold this policy?

If you think you have been mis-sold something, or some condition was withheld that you should have known then you may have something. but you would be better off looking on the moneysavingexpert forum.
