Can you become addicted to the cycling commute?

Wish it was that easy.
How come?

Edit: dont worry about it. It's probably even more stuck up then my last post.

Addicted is when you leave the house in torrential rain and turn left to go the longer way rather then turn right for the direct route.

I have now been commuting to my current work place for over 10 years and only ice and deep snow will stop me cycling commuting.
Train and motor commutes can do one.

Never done that

I must be addicted, because I'm somewhere to the right of this chart, according to this site: http://www.daftlogic.com/projects-google-maps-distance-calculator.htm
My actual commuting distance is 25.75km to work and 31.75km from work, and the above site says the straight-line distance is 22.1km.

My straight line distance is 4.33 miles, the shortest actual route I can do is 5 miles, I did a shortened ride into work today of 33.4 miles. I'm not addicted to commuting, I just enjoy riding to work.

I'm not addicted to commuting but think I probably have developed some level of addiction to cycling over the last year. The lengths I'll go to to factor cycling into my day even when it's completely impractical, and the symptoms (mainly mood and energy level-based) that I suffer when I don't ride for a couple of days suggest so anyway.
9 times out of 10 I'd much rather be cycling off into the hills on a route of my own devising rather than commuting, so I wouldn't say I'm addicted to the commute itself, but it's the obvious way to get some of my fix whilst retaining paid employment!
I guess with the sense of freedom and exhilaration that cycling at speed brings, coupled with the meditative element of repetitive action, coupled with the endorphin release from physical exertion, it's not that surprising that it becomes a sort of addiction for many of us.

So you set out to achieve a whopping 10,000 miles of cycling this year...and are on course to virtually double that?!
You're either making this up or you're a cyborg.

My target for the year is 20,000, I just never changed my sig from last year.

Oh and I ain't making it up nor am I a cyborg

I think I was addicted a couple of years ago, got very depressed if I missed a commute.
These days I have gone the other way and cannot get back into cycle commuting no matter how many times I tell myself I will.
Me too, although I think I'm getting my mojo back!
