Hi there. Can anyone help? I recently downloaded Opera as I thought I'd try a different web browser but couldn't find my way around it so I uninstalled it. I'm back using Microsoft Internet Explorer but I now have the following problem. When I want to click on any web link in an email a dialogue box appears asking me to 'Locate link browser' and I can't! It is possible, with some difficulty, to view the page code and find the url and then copy and paste it into my internet explorer address bar but this is a pain when there is a huge amount of code to pore through. How can I reset it back to how it used to be?

Windows 2003. IE 8 I think (the latest version?); I'll have to look when I get home.
I'm willing to bet £10 that this is incorrect. Windows 2003 is a server based OS.

More than likely not going to help, i suspect that all that needs to be changed is the default application for viewing webpages

You'd be surprised how many people run server based o/s.

He's trying to open links from inside IE, and outlook is trying to open them. As it's inside the "shell" of IE, then it points to there being a problem with the IE settings. Its quite common when removing non microsoft browsers such as opera and chrome for this to happen.

I'm sure i wouldn't be. Most people will buy an off the shelf computer which is nearly impossible to buy with a server based o/s.
The only people who will run a sever based o/s will be techies or people who have got their mate to build them a computer and they have put server on it because that is what they had to hand.

OK, I've just had the moment of truth... I just had to go Control Panel > Network and Internet Connections > Internet options > Program tab > Default web browser: Make default.

Thanks.

And I still don't know what version of IE I've got.
