I'm a roadie (also have a CX) looking to get back into MTB.
I'll ride in Epping Forest, general MTB XC stuff, and looked at Voodoo Bizango.
But I'm also looking at Canyon Yellowstone Al 3.9 and 4.9. There's a £100 price difference between the two and I see some basic differences in groupset, cassette cogs. fork. But why is there a 1.2kg weight difference and also are there some more detailed specs you know of (like axle diameter etc that might make a difference to the way the bikes feels)?
If you have any other recommendations around the same price, let me know. My criteria is it must have shimano brakes. I want 27.5 or 29, not fussed which. Orange are overpriced these days right?
