Honda Civic [63 plate] roof and bonnet has about 10 small but visible dints caused by really heavy hailstones [25mm across!] which came down like bullets in last week's shower. Thankfully the windows weren't smashed and the dints haven't broken the paint finish.... it would cost about £900 to get roof and bonnet filled and re-sprayed... but claim on insurance would then put premiums up [and may be classed as an Act of God anyway]...

This could easily happen again in the next few years so reluctant to get repaired as it isn't that bad.... keen to hear how much people think it could de-value the value of the car in say 4 years time?

If the paint is not damaged then why don't you get a quote from a paintless dent remover company. They just tap the dents out. No need for filler or paint. Sure that be much cheaper than the quote you have got.

The dints are like little inverted cones about 6mm diameter and 2/3mm deep... If they can get to the all dents from the inside without having to strip the lining off then that's a good idea.

There are some very good PDR guys up your way, if the paint is not damaged do not let anyone near it with a spray gun.

Sounds like £200 or less if your description is accurate. I have done many cars with 500 + dents.

Had more than a two hundred hailstone damaged dents removed from our Mondeo Estate a few years ago. It was an insurance job as it cost over £2k. The job was pretty much perfect. If they had to have used paint, then I would have sold the car, but because it was all done without paint we have kept it and not seen any problems since. Big respect to the guy doing it.
