carlton frame

Hi I have just bought an old frame primarily for the head badge to go on another frame I'm renovating . any ideas on this one no frame number on ?? Cheers guys

@Carlton Dave so you won that one , must admit i offered but just a bit large for me frame wise , sure looks nice

Thanks Shaun must admit not heard of lindrick lugs before !! By the looks of if under the hammerite it was originally turquoise . nice frame though j will hopefully get this one resprayed too cheers

Looks very similar to one I had done up for Mrs T. Carlton Continental.

Her's is a 1959, the serial number was on the BB, IIRC. Fortunately, 1959 was AFTER Raliegh took over, so the decoding the serial number (and finding it in the first place) was easy. Yours may well be pre-Raliegh. Spkesmann/Mike is probably your best bet, though (his site does have a handy page for checking out dates of Carlton frames, which was how I worked out the age)

You could well be right there, I remember Jerry Mortimore having on eon his site. Dated c1954.

Hi yes think it is the continental . can't find frame number but it us painted with hammerite so perhaps once stripped I might find one I will keep you posted!! Thanks again Dave
