I'm just getting round to fitting the Cateye Velo Wireless I bought myself for Christmas  and have a concern about the way the sensor is fitted.

The instructions and diagrams are not clear, but it looks like the wireless sensor is intended to be mounted on the fork so that the body of the sensor is behind the fork. In this position it's nice and streamlined, but I'm worried that the slightest knock will push it into the wheel such that it will catch in the forward-rotating spokes. This will at the very least knacker the sensor and probably a spoke or two, but could cause the wheel to lock.

Any thoughts?

you are correct - most people mount them on the left hand fork leg and pointing forward to avoid the sensor ending up in the spokes

I have this computer and apart from it being a little bit big; it's good value for money

mines mounted on the rear of the right fork leg and it hasn't budged. although this could be down to the shape of the forks on the boardman.
