From what I can see the only siginificant differences between the 2014 and 2013 Genesis CdF models are in the brakes (Hayes CX Expert vs Avid BB5) and the rims (Alex XD-Lite Disc vs. Alex G2000 Disc). There are other minor differences.

So, in terms of component of specs, which is better and why? A 2014 Genesis CdF or the 2013 Genesis CdF?

thanks

Err, it's a bit late now, but I have a 2013 CdF and I'd probably be keen on the 2014 model's lighter wheelset and lower gearing. I mean I've never met a hill I couldn't climb but some of them are a lot of effort. If I had a load to carry then I'd definitely want the lower gearing.

You can sort this easy peasy winjim, just a simple cassette change.

What range does your cassette have now, 11-28 ? You might be able to go 11-32, that would get you up Le Mont Ventoux.

It's a 12-25, but there's plenty of life left in it yet so it's not really worth replacing at the moment. When it does wear out I'll probably put on a 12-28 or maybe 12-30. I've got my Bianchi for scampering up hills and that's also where any spare upgrade cash is headed.
