Is one of you a tree surgeon?
I saw some tree surgeons cutting down a tree outside so went to have a chat. I mentioned that my chainsaw wasn't cutting well despite my sharpening so one of them asked me to bring it out to look at. So I went to get it.
As soon as I took the cover off one of the others said 'Chain's slack!'.
Anyway, they sharpened my chain for me and told me how to do it right and that my chain file was the wrong size. Very kind of them.
There has been a lot of generosity recently:
The tree surgeon sharpening my chain.
A tyre fitter at KwikFit fitting a couple of my old tyres to some rims for free even though it took him 20 minutes struggling with a broken electronic valve stem.
A chap in America sending me a free pair of tractor front axle spindles for my electric tractor project.
A chap in Ireland sending me a free vacuum switch for my electric car.
A chap in Brighton giving me a free electric motor from a golf buggy for my electric tractor.
Longer's long term loan of a climbing harness and help with my scaffold tower.
There have been numerous others including free massage and homeopathy.
Perhaps the world is really quite good.
So what nice things have relative strangers done for you recently?
