changing forks

Hi i was just wondering if i could change my forks on my urban bike from the shock absorber type to ones without shocks? I'm going of the idea of the shocks as i mostly use the bike on flat road and was thinking of converting it to a touring bike. Thanks in advance.

yup u can as long as you replace with the same as before or wotever you frame supports/headset. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Categories.aspx?CategoryID=611 depending on how much you want to spend and if your using v brakes or disc brakes you will need the appropriate mount for it for your current configuration, you might need to cut the top of your fork tube were it goes into the headset to clamp depending on ur right height for handle bars and how many spacers you need or use, hope that makes sense .
