Charity bike ride from London to Marseille

My friends and I this summer are planning to cycle from London to Marsielle for Charity and are having some problems with finding a suitbable route.

1) Does anybody have a cycle route to marseille or near to that we could use?

2)Does anybody know a good cycle route planner? Also any tips to cycling through France, places to avoid etc?

My personal golden rule is to stay off the routes nationales if you can.Michelin maps (and their website -viamichelin.com) highlight scenic routes in green. I've always found the recommendations reliable.

viaMichelin.com also has a route planning facility that will give cycle-friendly routes, but unfortunately I haven't found a way to get it to output a GPX file.

If you've not read "Downhill all the Way" by Edward Enfield, it might be a good place to start route wise.
If you do London to Newhaven/Dieppe then you can join up with his route near Rouen.

Also you could join up with this new Avenue Verte at Lyon http://www.dulemanal.../en/accueil.php and follow it to the Med.

I met up with friends in the south after they had cycled from London.

Their route was:
London
Newhaven
le havre
avenue verte
Paris
down the Rhone - it's flat !!!!
Orange
Avingnon
Med

It took them a month and is under 1,000 miles, they camped al the way.
