It is a 20-mile cycle ride around the beautiful Charnwood Forest to raise vital funds for two deserving charities. The Ride is challenging but is also something everyone can do. 100% of all funds made will be split equally between both charities. This event ran last year (2011) and was highly successful... we had over 100 cyclists and raised £4,000+. This year we hope to get 200 cyclists taking part of all abilities and to raise £10,000. Rob Merry, one of the 2011 cyclists quotes "Had a great time today doing the ride, very well organised and more than enough marshall points, will be doing it again next year!".

The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign is the leading UK charity focusing on muscle disease. It has pioneed the search for treatments and cures for over 50 years, and is dedicated to improving the lives of all children and adults affected by the muscle disease. Visit www.muscular-dystrophy.org for more details - this event has been promoted on their website.

Charlotte Allen, Regional Fundraising Manager at the Muscyular Dystrophy Campaign quotes "I'm extremely excited to be working alongside Rothley School on this fabulous event. We really want as many people as possible to come forward and take part to help raise money to fund research into a cure and viable treatmens for those living with muscular dystrophy."

We will ensure there are plenty of marshall points and St Johns ambulance will be there on standby as safety is of paramount. We will be serving complimentary cakes, sandwiches and drinks when you arrive back from the cycle ride. We will have prizes for most money raised. There will also be family fun and crafts for the little ones providing they are accompanied by an adult.
