Chatting to someone & discovering they're a cyclist!

I went for a coffee after a German class this morning & a lady at the next table started talking to me, we got into a discussion about books and this it turned out she had been a member of the Stretford Wheelers CC. I used to know a lot of their members. We ended up chatting about all sorts cycling & have exchanged phone numbers. She's thinking of moving into my area so hopefully I might have a cycling companion for a change!

I think this post may have appeared in other guises, but am so glad I stopped for a coffee!

I like it when this happens. I have just discovered that the guy who has moved in nextdoor to us is a cyclist. Now both his partner and my wife can roll their eyes collectively at our discussions!

Happened on Friday at a party... got chatting to a fella... arranging to go out for a ride soon... after we'd discovered our mutual interest there was a certain amount of sussing out whether or not we have similar competencies with regard to distance and pace... worked out ok... we're both middle aged fellas who could do better but like where we are!
