After coming off at very low speed and doing no damage to myself or the bike, I thought it'd be an idea to change my 1.5" slicks for something a bit more appropriate for the winter weather.
Instead of buying new, I went down my local bike recycling centre, which is conveniently just round the corner from my office, and bought a couple of second hand tyres for a tenner. Good branded tyres too, a WTB front and Specialized rear. It's made me a lot more confident and has even got me thinking about using my 26" wheel commuter off road, I did a bit of icy singletrack on the way home tonight and it was awesome!
Anyway, worth going down your local place if you want some tyres for the bad weather but can't justify £30 upwards for a set of knobblies.
