Slogging up my favourite hill, Porthill Bank new Newcastle-under-Lyme (SV Link), I was beckoned to go faster so a driver from a road on the left could pull out.

You can just see her waving me to go quicker towards the end of the vid.
She had no chance.
I was totally pooped!!.
Think I was chuckling all the way home.

It's a classic illustration of scapegoating. The real reason she has had to wait to pull out is because of the almost constant flow of cars and vans and not because of the solitary bicycle. And yet who is her frustration targeted at?

that looked pretty good humoured to me, that s the sort of situation i usually puff out the cheeks and and give a grin to.

makes the world go round and is one of the reasons i like to cycle

imho at least half of the people that pull out in a dangerous way see the cyclist perfectly well

I swap between Porthill Bank and Boulton Street which is the road parallel and much steeper but shorter.
