Ah but do you toast the bread 1st on both sides or just the one?

I toast one side only, then add the cheese to the nontoasted side and place under grill.
Melt the cheese and add any extra toppings.

Err cheese on toast is cheese on toast, that's a pizza.

But to me a pizza had a dough base and a tomato sauce stuff on it.

This is more of a scooby snack

Recipe for Cheese on toast

Bread (nowt poncy) toasted
Cheese (Lancashire Crumbly / Chedder) placed on non poncy toasted bread
place under grill until cheese is melted to the consitency of molten lava

Add HP brown sauce to the desired taste then eat , then 10 mins later use tongue to inspect the blisters on the roof of the mouth.

Anymore than that, and as threebikesmcginty says "that's a pizza"

I've still got blisters (lips and roof of mouth) from my last cheese, salami, spring onions, tomato purée and mustard offering. I know it's a protopizza to fromage fundamentalists but once the pain had susbsided, it was delicious.

Worcestershire sauce for me
