I'm back from an intrepid chevron hunt.
I had hoped the dry weather would mean dry roads but Gorsey Brow was damp so the back wheel was slipping on the steepest bit (25%?) which was disconcerting but I got up it.
Cock Brow was going OK. The concrete rutted surface gives good grip actually. Until I rode over a spattered pile of horse s***. Slip, slip, slip. Complete standstill so had to put foot down before I fell over. No way to restart there (25% again) so pushed it a few metres and found a bit of 15% and got it going again. After that (the bit in the photo) it was OK
Skipped Chapel Brow as it was directly into a 15mph headwind and I'd had enough. Need to Man Up
