The works sports and social club seem very keen on Christmas as they have already sent three emails about this years Christmas do, the first one announcing it and the last two changing the date.

What better way to get into the Christmas mood than have your Christmas do in November.

That really did make me laugh out loud.

I've got to organise the local Anglo-German club Christmas do and I want to get all the arrangements finalised before the end of June, simply to spare everyone from having to use the "C" word before the first week in December.

Why do these particular two days of the year need seven months planning when everything else can be sorted out in a week?

Why does it seem to rule most peoples lives for at least a quarter of the year?

That's the trick you see: sort it out in two days at a time of the year when people's stress levels don't rocket at the mere mention of the word and when it actually does arrive, you can sort of painlessly take it in your stride.
