Couldn't face any supper, just too full.

Yours looks lovely. For some reason I've got an urge to put little stick on eyes on your carrots:laugh:

NT did just say they also looked like penguins!

We did wonder about sticking little silver bauble cake decorations on them, and NT thought about a clove in the top of each for a star! But then last year, he hand carved Xmas tree shapes in the regular carrots...

I think the sun came out briefly here as well, although I too was in and out of the land of Nod so I might have dreamt it. My tomato soup, omelette and salad nicoise followed by an mp made me really sleepy earlier, but I am wide awake now.

Great day. Kids woke up at 9.00 for a change, and so we spent an hour trying to galvanise Nanna into action before we could open pressies. Santa found me a nice Gore jacket, some tools and a Hope bolt-up seatclamp. Nicest surprise was a Kobo E reader. Anyway, Mrs Cube did scrambled eggs and smoked salmon with bucks fizz for breakfast. I fettled the bike and browsed youtube for Cornelius Three kings and stumbled on this. Having sung in a premier league Oxford College choir it takes a lot to stir me, but the purity of this singing had the hairs up on the back of my neck. The rich bass drone at 1m56 or thereabouts is almost menacing, which puts plainsong at the top of any personal charts.

Lunch was rib of beef with a bottle of shiraz.
This afternoon has seen us watching Ted and playing monopoly.

A lovely Christmas - though it took a long while to produce so we finally ate about 4 pm. The only thing I've eaten since are some Quality Street and a left over sausage. (We didn't get as far as pudding). The children helped with the peeling, table setting etc, and we finally got out for a short walk after dark.

Best weather for weeks here, mild, dry, sunny, and an absence of gale force winds which combined to lift the spirits. Went out for a run on the bike in the morning then to my neighbours for a late Christmas lunch.

That's got the left over beef divied up, two lots of lean in the freezer for sandwiches later, two lots of cubes - one for the Randang tonight, and one for what ever. Finally, the bones and the bits are in a pot with some veg simmering away to make stock.

Considering how much I ate and more importantly drank yesterday, I bounced out of bed this morning ready to do the day.

I think I need a little less tolerance, these guys sum it up:

Landlords have borrowed the dog to walk off their Christmas excesses which means I can continue Project Do Nothing. Good timing, really: about 10 minutes ago I was torn between heading out myself or making another :cuppa:. Timing, as they, is everything.
