christmas rhyme

A cycling Christmas is what I’d like
Riding around on my Raleigh bike
For miles and miles if I only could
Forsake the turkey and Xmas pud
Not caring about any ice or snow
Over the hills and dales I’d go
No staying indoors for my bike and me
Watching boring old films on the TV
But alas, my Christmas duty calls
And I must stay within these walls
In the bosom of my dear family
Opening presents from ‘neath the tree
Being over indulged and over fed
While my bike sits lonely in the shed
But Christmas comes just once a year
So I’ll celebrate with another beer
So as we near the 25th of December
Here’s a “Merry Christmas” to every member!

Well, OK. For years these have been annoying us, the wife in particular.

Holly berries are red,
The ivy is in bloom,
Your f***ing lights,
Flash right into our room.
