Cinelli Experience Veloce vs Trek Madone 2.1

So on top of considering a steel vintage, I can also have up to a grand on Cyclescheme so I've been looking at the Cinelli Experience Veloce and the Trek Madone 2.1. I'll be using to commute (15miles round) then to put in a longer day on a Sunday.

Any thoughts on these? Or any other suggestions?

Cinelli if were me. Such an evocative brand. But Trek? Just doesn't have the same cachet.

How do ribble cycles match up? I work in Preston so I could consider a bike from here also

I bought a Cinelli Veloce Experience 2013 just before Christmas after two years on a Specialized Secteur triple. I absolutely love the Cinelli. It's a lot of fun. It's very responsive and nippy for commuting and very comfortable for longer rides although I've never ridden further than 80 miles at a sitting. Try and wangle a test ride to see if it suits you.
