Every time I see a photo like this, it reminds me of the time before VOSA were a thing and seeing these Scanias being driven flat out by the Iads down the A55. There was always some sort of rumour of pulled limiters/coach diffs/tacho switches, but they couldn't half shift. I'd be on the end of the tacho in a 7.5 tonne van to catch them up and get past.
I have it on good authority that the first Volvo F16 Globetrotters were capable of in excess of 90mph, up Windy Hill (M62) at 44 Tonnes GVW
